“When the Soul wants to experience something she throws out an image in front of her and then steps into it.”
― Meister Eckhart
In my May 2012 blog”Who Creates Art?”, I have given a recipe for creating art. “So the art is created by both the artist, with his/her creativity, technical and theoretical knowledge, and the viewer, who with his/her ability to quiet the mind, sees the intent”.
I think I have missed the most important ingredient, without which the artwork is just an object, not alive.
When I paint or draw, initially, I am present. It is my hand, my brush/pencil, my space….but eventually, when creating, things just happen. It feels as if I am more an instrument of something that is greater, but yet part of me.
I look at the artwork I have created, I can’t even imagine/remember how I have done it. So I observe and just admire the result of the experience I had playing with the Soul.
